Can we take a moment and honor this timeless, classic treat? Vanilla Creme Brulee is my absolute favorite dessert. If I see it on a restaurant’s dessert menu, there is no question about ordering one, or two (because I do not share my creme brulee).
There are two reasons why I love this treat (besides its delicious taste, that is). First, you can make this dish ahead of time. So, it is perfect if you are hosting a get-together or are looking for a dessert that will last you a few days. Second, creme brulee is kosher for Passover, so you can enjoy this treat at any time of the year and for any occasion!
This dish is very easy to make. Tasty and simple, can you ask for more? This Creme Brulee is also relatively quick to make. So, if you are looking for a dessert that will leave your guests wanting more and make them think twice if you made it, look no further than this easy Vanilla Creme Brulee recipe.
Vanilla Creme Brulee Recipe Ingredients:
This recipe has such a simple ingredient list. It only requires four ingredients. Yes, you read that correctly. Four ingredients will make you the most delicious vanilla creme brulee! Here is everything you need to get started.
- Heavy Cream
- Vanilla Extract
- Six Large Egg Yolks
- Sugar
It is likely you already have most of this in your kitchen, so what are you waiting for? Let’s get started on this amazing recipe!
How to Make the Easy Vanilla Creme Brulee:
Now that you stocked your kitchen, you can get the ball rolling. This recipe is so easy, you will be blown away with the finished product. To begin, heat up your heavy cream in a saucepan. Once it begins to bubble, make sure to mix it and add the vanilla extract in. While it cools down, grab another bowl and mix your eggs yolks and sugar until they are slightly lighter in color.
Afterwards, slowly and gradually add the cream to this mixture and mix it in as you add it. Lastly, pour the mixture through a sieve and pour it into the ramekins. Then, fill the baking pan with water. It should take up one-third of the ramekins.
Lastly, cook your masterpiece for 35 minutes to 45 minutes at 325 degrees Fahrenheit. You will know you are done with the edges are set and the middle is still jiggly.
Remove the ramekins and place the creme brulee onto a cooling rack. Once it is cooled, place them in the fridge for at least 4 hours, or overnight if you wish. Once you are ready to serve your creme brulee, blot them with a paper towel if there is any moisture. Sprinkle the sugar evenly on top of the creme brulee and torch the sugar until it is caramelized. Wait a few seconds until the sugar hardens and serve to your friends and family! Trust me, everyone will devour this sugary treat and be begging for seconds and thirds.
Easy Recipe Tips & Tricks:
Even though I gave you the step-by-step, I still have a little more tricks up my sleeve. Here are some things you can do to ensure your Vanilla Creme Brulee is perfection!
- You will need a kitchen torch to get the best caramelization of the sugar.
- If you use white sugar, you will need to use about 1 tablespoon.
- When filling the baking pan with water, the best way is to first place your ramekins on the baking dish and place it on the oven rack and add water last.
- When taking your Creme Brulee out of the over, pick up the ramekins with oven mitts or thongs and wait for the water to cool down before you take it out of the oven.
- Remove any air bubbles on top of your mixture before placing it in the oven. This will create that smooth texture and look (almost) too good to eat!
