No-Churn Nutella Vanilla Ice Cream: Your New Favorite Treat

June means it is officially the kickoff of summer time! After all that 2020 has been, I am ready to relax poolside, go to the beach and eat yummy BBQ food. Summer also means the unofficial start of one of my favorite times of year: Ice Cream Season! With this, I decided to try out making No-Churn Vanilla Ice Cream. Let me tell you, this dish did not disappoint. This melt-in-your-mouth treat has the perfect Nutella flavor. We finished it in just two days, and we were still craving more.

Another reason I love making this treat is because you can turn it into a fun family activity. This dish is the perfect way to show kids how to make ice cream and give them a yummy dessert at the end. Also, making this teaches them patience as they wait for the ice cream to freeze. I think all moms can agree that our kids would all benefit from a little more patience! Plus, the look on their face when they finally taste the ice cream is priceless — they absolutely cannot wait to devour more and more!

I love the Nutella flavor that this treat brings. Nutella is definitely a crowdpleaser, enjoyed by adults and kids alike! The chocolate, nutty flavor is definitely going to melt in your mouth and bring you a nostalgic, childhood taste. Putting in in ice cream is a different twist that delivers a cool, refreshing treat on a hot, summer day!

One of my favorite things about this dish is how quick it is to make and prepare. The making process takes only about fifteen minutes. After a little time in the freezer, you are ready to enjoy this awesome dish!

The Recipe Ingredients:

This dish only needs five (yes, you read that correctly: FIVE) ingredients. The simplicity and ease are one of the reasons I love making this delectable dessert. Here is everything you need to stock your fridge with before you get started and hit the kitchen:

  • Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • Heavy Cream
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Hot Water
  • And, most importantly, lots of Nutella!

How to Make the Perfect No-Churn Nutella Vanilla Ice Cream:

To begin making this delicious No-Churn Nutella Vanilla Ice Cream, first gather a mixer bowl and a small bowl. Then, you will place about three tablespoons of Nutella in a ramekin and place the ramekins in a bowl filled with hot water that reaches half way to the ramekins. This will help the Nutella melt to make it easier to drizzle onto the ice cream mixture.

Afterwards, in the small bowl, mix one can of condensed milk with the vanilla extract. You will mix this together with a spoon until it is well blended. Once it is well-combined, you will then place this aside and begin whipping the heavy cream. To do this, place the heavy cream in a mixing bowl and mix until you reach stiff peaks.

To continue making the dish, pour the condensed milk mixture into the whipped heavy cream and fold it in, so as not to break the cream. Once this is well-combined, pour it into your ice cream container. Personally, I like to use a 9 by 5 baking tin. You will pour half the ice cream mixture into the container. Next, take a spoon filled with Nutella and begin drizzling it on top of the ice cream. You can drizzle as much as you like — feel free to go wild! After this, pour the second half of the ice cream mixture to cover the Nutella, and repeat to drizzle the Nutella again.

Recipe Tips and Tricks:

When putting the top layer of Nutella on the ice cream, you can opt to create a cute design by drizzling horizontal lines and using the handle of the spoon to drag the Nutella vertically. This will give you a fancy-looking design that would have your favorite ice cream parlor drooling! Now, you can place the dish in the freezer, but make sure to wrap it with an airtight plastic wrap seal so your treat does not get freezer burn. Let set and freeze in the freezer, and voila, you have your No-Churn Nutella Vanilla Ice Cream!

Now, you are ready to serve your amazing dessert. I chose to serve them in cones for the perfect summer treat, but feel free to serve in a cute bowl, too.

Description

This No-Churn Nutella Vanilla Ice Cream is the perfect summer treat! The Nutella swirls become Nutella chunks that melt in your mouth!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz of Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 2 cups of Heavy Cream
  • 1 tsp of Vanilla Extract
  • 3 tbsp of Nutella
  • Hot Water

Instructions

  1. Place approximately three tablespoons of Nutella in a Ramekin and place the Ramekin in a bowl filled with the hot water. This will help melt the Nutella and make it easier to drizzle it onto the ice cream.
  2. In a small bowl, mix one can of condensed milk with the vanilla extract. Mix these together with a spoon until it is well-blended. Once it is well-combined, place this mix to the side for now.
  3. Pour the condensed milk mixture into the whipped heavy cream and fold it so as to not break the whipped cream.
  4. Pour the condensed milk mixture into the whipped heavy cream and fold it in so as not to break the whipped cream.
  5. Pour half the ice cream mixture into the container. I recommend a 9 x 5 container or baking pan). Take a spoon filled with Nutella and begin drizzling it on top of the ice cream. Repeat until you have used half of your Nutella.
  6. Pour the second half of the ice cream mixture to cover the Nutella, and repeat again. Drizzle the Nutella, but this time, drizzle to create horizontal lines. With the handle of the spoon, drag the Nutella to create vertical lines to create the design.
  7. Cover the container with plastic wrap. Make sure to lay a layer of plastic wrap on top of the ice cream. This will ensure you do not get a layer of ice on top of the ice cream. Wrap another layer around the container to create an airtight seal.
  8. Freeze, serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can use more or less Nutella than what is listed. It is up to your preference how much you like!
