Asian Chicken with Orange Sauce: Simple and Delicious

You can not go wrong with this classic Asian dish. Skip your typical takeout order tonight and make this delicious sauce to pair with chicken. If you really want to have a full meal out of it, feel free to add rice, vegetables, or anything else you wish. No matter how you decide to prepare it, the Asian Chicken with Orange Sauce will never fail.

Asian Chicken with Orange Sauce Ingredients

One reason I love to make this dish is because it is so simple and does not require a ton of ingredients. Here is everything you need to make your next go-to-dinner dish: Asian Orange Chicken Sauce.

  • Soy Sauce
  • Rice Vinegar
  • Honey
  • Garlic
  • Orange (for juice and zest)
  • Corn Starch
  • Sesame Seeds
  • Optional: Green Onions

How To Make The Perfect Asian Orange Chicken Sauce

To get started with this amazing dish, begin by mincing your garlic cloves into a small bowl. Then, add the soy sauce to this bowl. I prefer low-sodium soy sauce. After this, add the rice vinegar, honey, orange zest, and one cup of freshly squeezed orange juice. If you do not have fresh oranges, orange juice works well, too. If you do not have honey, I find that maple syrup offers the same texture and sweetness, so no need to stress.

Now, set your sauce aside and to get started with the chicken. Sauté your chicken, and make sure to brown your chicken on either side. The chicken does not have to be fully cooked yet, and you do not want it to dry. Then, once the chicken is a little brown and cooked halfway through, add your sauce to the pan on medium heat. Let it cook for one minute and mix the sauce in. Afterwards, on low heat, add one tablespoon of corn starch at a time, until you reach your thickness preference for the sauce. Here, make sure to mix this well and wait a few seconds before adding another tablespoon of cornstarch. Let the chicken and sauce cook until the chicken is ready. Once the chicken is ready, add sesame seeds and mix them in to combine them with the sauce.

Optional: If you would like, you can add in chopped green onions for extra texture and flavor.
