Directions for your Hamantaschen Dough:

This dough is one of my favorites to make, it’s buttery and delicious as well as easy to make! You can make your own dough within 40 minutes, without the need for any room-temperature ingredients like eggs or butter.

Begin by adding your butter and sugar to your mixing bowl, with your whisk attachment on your stand, mix on high for 2 – 3 minutes. Combine the butter and sugar then, add in your eggs and vanilla. Continue to mix for just another minute.

With your combined ingredients, you are going to need to change out the whisk attachment to your dough one. Add in salt, then your flour, and mix on medium until your dough gathers together in a ball. Take your dough out and cover it up, either with plastic wrap tightly secured on your bowl – or you can even put your dough in a plastic ziplock bag. You want this to cool in your fridge for 15 minutes.

Once cooled down, you’re going to want to take your dough out of the fridge and roll it out. Make sure it’s 1/4 of an inch thick, so the dough is not too thin or thick for this next step. Using a circular cookie or even a glass, you need to press out your shapes so we can begin to make this delicious treat!

Now that the dough is done it’s time to create the final product of your s’mores hamentaschen

Directions for your S’mores Filling:

In the center of your circles, you’re going to place around 1 tsp of your Nutella. Next, it to top that with two mini marshmallows! You’re now at the point where we get to create the traditional shape of our Hamantaschen. A heads up – if you use egg wash on the sides of your dough it will prevent it from opening in the oven. With your circular cookies, pinch together three of your sides and create a triangular shape.

Your next step is to pop those bad boys in the fridge! Let them cool down for 20 minutes. While they sit in there, make sure to pre-heat your oven to 350. Once the temperature is hit you’re going to want to put your tray into the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.

When your cookies are done baking, we are not done yet! Let them cool down in temperature and while you wait for that you can begin to melt your chocolate for the drizzle. You can either slowly microwave the chocolate melts, making sure to mix and fold between times or go the traditional method- a double boiler.

Finshing touches for your S’mores Hamantaschen:

Once your melts are…well melted, put them inside a piping bag and cut the tip off so you can begin decorating. With the cooled-down cookies, the chocolate drizzle with stick a lot better onto your hamantaschen. Make sure when your drizzle the chocolate on you don’t put it on top of the mini marshmallows – those guys you need to save for last!

With the chocolate drizzle hardening, you will be able to crumble your graham crackers onto the cookie. This will add some authentic s’mores ingredients to this creation. This last step is my favorite of them all. Using a kitchen torch you are going to roast the mini marshmallows! Burn them, or make them that amazing golden color- roast them to your liking.

Okay, I lied … now it’s time for my favorite step – enjoying your creation!
