How to make Easy Linzer Cookies with maple syrup?

This recipe is the easiest recipe you will come across. The end result is the same every time and the taste is simply delicious.

To make the cookies use a stand mixer with the dough hook to mix the maple syrup and sugar on medium speed. Next add the baking soda and mix until well combined.

Add the egg and egg yolk, mix until well combined. Melt the butter/margarine and add to the mixer. Lastly add the flour and mix until a dough ball forms.

Place the dough in the fridge for 15 minutes. In the meantime preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line two cookie trays with parchment paper.

Flour your working surface or parchment paper, lay the dough ball on top and dust with flour, next cover with another layer of parchment paper and begin rolling the dough out to 1/4 of an inch thick. Begin cutting out the cutting with the cookie cutter and transfer to the baking tray.

*If the dough falls apart as you transfer the cookies to the baking tray, roll the dough together once more and roll out on the parchment paper that will go on the baking tray. This way the cookies you cut out stay in place and straight to the oven.

Bake for about 10 minutes or until the bottom begins to brown. Let cool on tray before transferring to a cooling rack.
