Description

A moist cake that has that perfect crisp like a muffic top. The orange poppyseed cake takes less than 10 minutes to put together. 


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 2/3 cups orange juice or milk if you wanted to make it dairy
  • 1 2/3 cups oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • Poppy seeds to taste (I place about 1/3 of a cup)
  • 1 teaspoon orange extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the over to 350 F.
  2. Mix together all the dry ingredients in the bowl of your mixer. Flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
  3. In the bowl of an electric mixer, make a well in the center and add all the wet ingredients. Orange joice, oil, and eggs. Mix everything together on medium speed until well combined.
  4. Once well combined add the poppy seeds to taste.
  5. Coat your cake pan with baking spray. For those pans with designs make sure you baking spray is with flour.
  6. Bake for 70 minutes or until tester inserted comes out clean.
